You were made to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous...

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be?...Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Jogging Away

Well Ladies, I have found the trick to fast cardio.  Have your child son/daughter or possible pet jog, ride their bike, etc as you try to run 2.5 miles.  When you know you are being followed, you jog a lot faster and breath heavier.  Even though you know it is your son, you still jog faster.  Talk about combining family home evening and exercise at the same time!  Wow, Super Mom!

Slipping Up and Moving On...

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Karate Choppy Waters

Here is a pic from our second attempt at water aerobics that occurred this week. I (Shannon) decided to post this picture out of all that were taken because it made me laugh as it looks like Shiree is going to go all Chuck Norris-Karate Kid on our new teacher while Kira, Peggy, and Amber just stand back and watch it all go down...

Ronald McDonald's House

So we as the Brewsters feel the need to do what we can to give back a little to the community and the world around us. As a newly formed group, we decided that the first place we would go would be to the Ronald McDonald House. What an incredible place this is. It offers housing, support, and so much more to families who have children who are undergoing medical treatment at a local children's hospital.

The stress that these families face each day is incomprehensible to most of us. And the last thing they want and should have to worry about is cooking. So that is where we came in. The Brewsters converged on the kitchen and made dinner for the house...

What was for dinner you may ask? The most easy of crock pot recipes! Let us share:

* A 2 1/2 - 3lb Roast
* 1 Package dry brown gravy mix
* 1 Package dry Ranch dressing mix
* 1 Package dry Italian salad dressing mix
* 2 Cups Water

Mix all of the dry ingredients with the water and pour over the roast. Cook in the crock pot for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Thicken the drippings for your gravy. And voila! (and trust us, if we can do this without messing it up, anybody can do it!)

Roast, gravy, and a side of potatoes...Success!

The food wasn't the only hot stuff in the kitchen!

And p.s. This is a great place to take all of your pop tops to!...
And yes, we do have a bit of a drinking problem (don't judge), but in our defense this was a collection that has been going on for a little while and one that we did receive a little, okay a lot of  help from our friends with... Thanks Bobby and Grem!

Thank you everyone who made tonight possible...for your donations, the use of your crock pots, for your time, your help, for being there, and just being you! It takes a village to raise a child and to pull of a well done service project...we couldn't have done it without the help of everyone. We truly do appreciate you all.

Thank you Ronald McDonald House for sharing your space with us tonight and for those of you who shared a little of your time and of your stories with us. We will be praying for you.

Count on it, we will be back!...

If any of you are looking for a wonderful service opportunity, check them out here...

It Was A REWARD...Not A RELAPSE!

Let us make something thing clear...We were not hiding. We were not ashamed. We were merely looking for a little peace and quiet to enjoy and savor the moment of chocolatey goodness that followed a two hour volleyball practice!

Shiree Video Blog #2 (Chunky Brewster Chocolate Meltdown)

Ok I'm all better now, but I can't eat chocolate in private.... if I did it wouldn't stop! Plus I get to see what I look like when I binge, and it sure isn't pretty :/ It makes me not want to do that anymore. In this video I just had to vent.

H2O Aerobics...

Last night was our first group attempt at a class. We converged on a local rec center's water aerobic class. Lucky them! You could see the thrill in some of the old broad's eyes as we entered the water. It was overwhelming joy they were experiencing to think they were going to be able to spend the next 60 minutes with us. Yeah, we didn't disappoint. Between our late comers diving in the water mid class, the intermittent yelling and groaning we let out when told to go "level 7 or above," and maybe the most enjoyable part for our other classmates was our inability to keep our thoughts to ourselves as well as our limbs to ourselves while thrashing, we mean moving, about in the deep end. It was some good, good times...

Here is our new friend Jeanie who taught the class. She was a delight. And do you want to hear the biggest shocker of all...She didn't kick us fools out! She invited us to come back again! Booyah!

Dont we look more svelt already?!...

Water Aerobic Power Rangers
So who is in next time? You won't be sorry you came...they give you lobster claws to thrash around in the water with, a noodle or a belt to prevent you from drowning, and best of all you get to spend an hour with us fun boats!

A post from Kourtni

I have found a sweet way to use the elliptical, I put my laptop up on the table and turn on some Netflix ( I am sooo grateful for netflix since it makes the working out a little less painful. I am taking bragging rights for a moment and telling you all how I burned 681 calories in 45 minutes on the sucker!! GO ME!!!! It felt amazing afterwards and I was able to cheat a little bit and go eat with a friend last night..

The next thing I am going to tell you about is something I use which has helped me so much, it's called www.myfitnesspal.com. It is amazing! You can sign up for free and it helps you track your calories and when you work out. It tells you how you are doing on your goal and it is just simply amazing!!

I don't have any before shots of me yet but I will put the pictures of  my computer/ellipitcal get up.

Day 1...

So today was 'D Day'...

Let that D stand for whatever you want...Diet, Doom, Damn(it)...all are applicable. For today we weighed and measured ourselves, and began a weight loss endeavor. Now sure, no one put a gun to our head and forced us to participate. We willingly signed up for the gig. So why the dread? Why the less than positive 'd words?'...the before mentioned weigh in and measuring. For me, it wasn't the prettiest of things. The numbers were big. And the 'before pictures' that I will be taking should probably be done by Jostens with a panoramic camera on a set of bleachers so they can can capture the entirety of me...but moving on...

I'm committed to this competition. In it to win it, as they say. Oh wait. Or just in it to have the time of my life and laugh til I pee, and hopefully lose a few lbs. in the process...okay, that sounds more like it! You want to hear the level of my commitment?! For example, this morning I awoke knowing this was the first day of the rest of my fit life and what did I do? I finished the brownie I started last night! Yeah that's right people, I finish what I start! And I plan to do to this competition what I did to that delectable turtle brownie...finish the sucker!  ~Shannon

So we promised you video blogging, and we didn't want to disappoint on day one, so Peggy was a champ and decided to be the first to bear her soul on film. Enjoy...

Welcome

Welcome to our blog!

We are just a bunch of girls who are just like you. We have decided to embark on a journey to get a bit more fit and a bit more healthy, and like any girl, are hoping to drop some pounds in the process!

We invite you to join us on our journey. There is one thing that is for absolute sure...there will be no shortage of laughter. That is something that we do well and often. We will take turns blogging and sharing our stories and perspectives so you can get to know each of us a bit better. We all are pretty much open books and will be tossing it out there for your reading and viewing enjoyment...the good, the bad, and the ugly...you'll get it all! And as we are out and about, getting fit and fabulous, we will make sure to post pictures and videos of our crazy adventures so you can see us in action.

Stay tuned, it's gonna be good!
